NOAA PMEL is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary of NOAA. PMEL is working on a special issue in Oceanography and a 2-day symposium in October/November to highlight and celebrate a half-century of accomplishments and what’s next for the lab. Since 1973, PMEL has become a world-class laboratory that makes critical observations and conducts groundbreaking research to advance our knowledge of the global ocean and its interactions with the earth, atmosphere, ecosystems, and climate.
