NCCOS scientists from the Marine Spatial Ecology Division’s Cooperative Oxford Lab and the Stressor Detection and Impacts Division’s Harmful Algal Blooms Forecasting Branch contributed to the 115th Annual meeting of the National Shellfish Association. The annual meeting was attended by a group of ~400 national and international scientists, growers, managers, and industry leaders to learn about the latest developments on understanding the biology, ecology, production, economics, and management of shellfish resources. On March 28, 2023, Ms. Shelly Tomlinson and Dr. Suzanne Bricker co-chaired a session, “Remote Sensing and Shellfish” and each gave a presentation in the session; Tomlinson et al., “Remote sensing for shellfish management efforts toward early warning, tool development and training for Harmful Algal Blooms in Chesapeake Bay”, and Bricker et al., “Can satellite products or state monitoring data substitute for on-farm data for oyster aquaculture modeling?” On March 27, 2023, Dr. Bricker co-chaired a session, Ecosystem Services, with Dr. Matt Parker (UMD Extension). Each session included engaged and productive discussions with session attendees. The meeting was held at the Baltimore Marriott at Camden Yards in Baltimore, MD from March 26-30, 2023, .
