NCCOS Staff Support Regional Science Conference

Poster session and attendees at 2015 annual meeting of Carolinas Chapter of Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry in Raleigh, N.C.

Scientists from NCCOS's Center for Coastal Environmental Health and Biomolecular Research helped lead the annual meeting of the Carolinas Chapter of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) last month in Raleigh, N.C.

SETAC is a global professional organization with regional chapters located throughout the U.S. The organization's meetingsprovide a forum where scientists, managers, and other professionals can exchange information and ideas on the study, analysis, and solution of environmental problems.

Representatives from academia, business, and government from North and South Carolina and Georgia attended this year's meeting, giving over 35 platform and poster presentations. In addition to co-leading the meeting, NCCOS scientistsorganized the judging of student presentations and were on hand to interact with students and professionals in discussions about the use, protection, and management of the environment.
