Description

This dataset is an inventory of seafloor mapping data from hydrographic multibeam sonar surveys and georeferenced benthic photographs and video clips, all collected in and around the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary (FKNMS). The multibeam data sets contain both bathymetric and backscatter data from 2004-2016 for the FKNMS and adjacent areas in the Atlantic Ocean, bounded to the North by the Florida Keys, and contain detailed surveys of various portions of FKNMS such as the Dry Tortugas and Tortugas Bank areas. Underwater video and photographs for ground validation were acquired during research cruises in the FKNMS during 2012-2016.
